Scott Craig

Scott Craig serves as the Chief of Police for the Sunrise Beach Police Department, where he leads a growing team committed to public safety, transparency, and meaningful community engagement. Chief Craig graduated, as valedictorian, from the Missouri Sheriffs’ Association Training Academy, and is a recipient of the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award. Chief Craig brings a strong foundation in modern leadership and professional development to the department.

A lifelong area resident, Chief Craig has deep roots in the community and combines high professional standards with a leadership style that’s approachable, practical, and community-focused. Whether he’s responding to calls, meeting with residents, or dropping a well-timed dad joke, he believes in staying engaged and accessible.

Under his leadership, the department has expanded officer training, upgraded its technology, and strengthened its role in regional task forces. Chief Craig emphasizes proactive policing, officer wellness, and building trust through transparency and accountability.

When he’s not at the station, you might find him at a community event, cheering on his kids, or pretending not to check his work email from the lake.
