Public Hearing notice, Beachwood Drive grant application

The Village of Sunrise Beach will hold a public hearing on July 14, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall located at 16537 N. Highway 5, Sunrise Beach MO 65079 to discuss the city's submission of an application for the Fiscal Year 2025 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The city is interested in obtaining all citizens' input on community development needs within the city.  As part of the hearing process, citizens will be asked to verbally assist in the completion of a Needs Assessment document.  The document will detail what the residents feel are the strengths and weaknesses of the community. In addition to the Needs Assessment, citizens will have the opportunity to discuss the impact of the proposed project on the environment and the environment’s possible impact on the project.  The Village is proposing to reconstruct a section of Beachwood Drive (Lake Rd 5-35) in the Village of Sunrise Beach, including pavement repair, drainage improvements, roadway resurfacing and other improvements. The total project cost is estimated at $603,903. The city proposes to contribute $103,903 in cash, with grant funds of $500,000 needed to make up the balance. The project, if funded, will benefit 76.80% low/moderate income persons. All citizens, including those in the targeted area, are encouraged to attend to comment on the proposed activities.
